How Scientologists Memorize Scientology

In many destructive cults, rote memorization is used to install thought-stopping cliches at what could be considered a subconscious level, and Scientology is no different. In this short clip, I describe the procedures that L. Ron Hubbard devised to do this. Enjoy!

    1. Did you ever train as an auditor? If so, you might have had to come up with some other way to learn the various codes and rules verbatim as required by the checksheet without necessarily having to have done Chinese School or patter drills. You’re still having to memorize stuff thought.

  1. Hi Chris, great video. I remember having to complete several of these patter drills both as a student and staff member. The Supervisor’s code, Auditor’s Code and Tone Scale Patter Drills were particularly gruelling to complete and often took students days or even weeks of endless, pattering. The drills, especially when they require one to keep their Training Drills ‘in’, which are thought by many to be brain wave altering and hypnotic, instilling beliefs at a sub conscience level. I always dreaded them on my courses. Lol
