How Scientology Uses Sex to Control People

In Scientology, David Miscavige uses Hubbard’s writings to repress/suppress sexual desires and urges. How is this done? Here is a short clip where I lay out some specifics of how Scientologists think about sex, masturbation and how this behavior is controlled. Enjoy!

  1. In the 60s and ’70s, things were pretty free-wheeling. I was not on the Apollo as crew until ’75, but those who were there tell me that hookups were common in the early days. Once we got to the Int Base, the hammer came down. I recall one muster where Sharder Starkey was publicly shamed in front of the group for confessing, in session, that he sometimes “checked out women’s asses.” I thought at the time – and I think everyone at the muster had the same thought, “If that’s now a crime, we’re ALL in trouble!”
