Hello and welcome back for another round in my take down of the academic apologists who can’t seem to say enough good things about the Church of Scientology and its right to exist as a tax-free religion. I’m referring of course to the collection of essays in this book, Scientology, edited by James R. Lewis and containing an array of apologetics essays by sociologists, psychologists and religious scholars. Except for just a couple of exceptions so far, this book has pretty much been an academic promotional piece for Scientology and unfortunately, this chapter is literally one of the worst of these.
