Greed is Good

Do you remember that movie from the 80s called Wall Street?

Michael Douglas played the infamous Gordon Gecko, and made a speech in which he said the following:

“…greed — for lack of a better word — is good.

“Greed is right.

“Greed works.

“Greed clarifies, cuts through, and captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit.

“Greed, in all of its forms — greed for life, for money, for love, knowledge — has marked the upward surge of mankind.”

I think it’s possible that David Miscavige, the leader of Scientology, may have seen this movie. And he may have thought that Gecko had a really good point.
