Critical Q&A #6

I apologize for having been away for a few weeks longer than usual. I had some personal issues to deal with which kept me off the camera. Here now is the sixth installment of my question-and-answer video show, where I take up questions subscribers and commenters have asked me in my videos and answer them as best I can. Questions in this video:

(1) You talked about what parts of Co$ would need to go and you talked about Xenu in this episode (Critical Q&A #1). I just wondered if you think the Scientology genesis myth would also need to go. Because, among all the atrocities the “church” commits I find that story mostly harmless (ironically) and even kinda cute. As far as genesis myths go it’s not even in bad company. All of those are kinda out there.

(2) One thought has occurred to me as I watch your and others’ videos. “Scientologists” are referred to often without distinguishing whether they’re public Scientologists or Sea Org members. Clearing this up is most helpful to those of us who were never in Scientology and have learned the culture from the internet. For example, as you answer the question about being trolled, it would be interesting to know whether they’re Sea Org directed by their superiors, if they’re public members that feel the need to engage you even though they’re not supposed to read entheta on the internet, or if they’re ‘hired guns’ like the PI’s and lawyers they use to go after apostates. It’s possible you don’t know, but it would be interesting to have your opinion.

(3) Hello there. Is there a difference between the treatment of Sea Org, staff, and just general members.

(4) I think this is a major thought of most of us who follow you & others. We now know that they have $1 billion, we can estimate that they have about 30,000 active members in the USA. Surely these 30,000 excluding the whales are going bust, so how long before Scientology hits terminal decline?  As a business model they cannot survive, their costs will only ever increase whilst more & more blow the exit rate can only become more rapid. The financial decline can only accelerate at an alarming pace as Miscavage has to keep up his fake front at huge cost. Many thanks & best wishes.

(5) At 12:34 on the Xenu story, you state that it was “spiritual selfs” or “thetans” in Scientologese, not aliens, that were transported to earth. In Scientology it’s stated that the thetan has “No mass, no wavelength and no location”. Ehm, how do you get something with no mass or location into an ice cube to put into a plane to drop into a volcano. Also, were there refreshments on the flight, maybe something salty to go along with the alcohol and glycol?

(6) I have not yet watched “going clear”, but have watched the BBC documentary, some of your videos, David Mango’s videos, etc. What I still simply do not understand is what the “wins” are, and what the positives and successes are that hook people. Clearly there must be some, as the “tech” does seeminly win over intelligent and accomplished people. I really need to understand, as I suspect that we are all at risk. It seems that it must be some incredible and impressive gains to cajole people into accepting the extortion and manipulation. Thank you so much for your candor.

(7) Hi Chris. I am wondering about the history of forced abortions and the Sea Org’s “No pregnancy/children” policy. This seems to contradict the twisted logic of the cherch. I would think that they would overwhelmingly welcome, in a ghoulish sort of way, members who wwre born onto the cherch and were under the cherch’s power from day one. Is there some purpose behind the policy as it stands now or is this just another illogical f**k-up by these idiots?

I too, don’t care what people want to believe in, as long as they are not hurting others with it.

I realize now, why at Flag, the ‘friendliest place’ is Not friendly at all, Except for when they are trying to get a donation from you and then blow as soon as they’re sure you won’t. They’re so strung out and put on a good act and then lose a sale and may have to eat beans and rice or be punished.

I did see how the male whales were treated, bombarded and actually hung on by girls, keeping others away from even talking with them.

After getting a Drug Rundown it did help me I felt and thought I found out why I did drink or take pills. However, wanting to do the bridge maybe would’ve been enough for me, once I got hooked on it from doing the TR’s. Don’t know, but one does get hooked on wins.

Interesting, how they kept one so busy at an org, that one didn’t know what’s going on around them with another student or staff’s lives.

    Thank you Chris

  2. Your answer on Scientology’s genesis Xenu beliefs #1 indicated what much of us have been saying, a belief they have a right to believe whatever they want that does not hurt others. The part I have trouble with on the Xenu belief is that it cannot be revealed until OT 3, which is, to me, part of the con and entrapment set up and unfair. Most will say since it is all over the internet that is not something that needs to be changed, people just need to look. The fact that a person going into an organization or mission might not hear about this belief and scientologists themselves actually might not have heard about it until further up their ladder is something I do tell people since that part of the Xenu belief is not reveled until later. If one is not going up the OT side of the bridge at what part of the bridge on the otherside is the Xenu story reveled? My friend attend a mission in California in the 1970s with her husband. She had done quite a bit of classes, he only the communication class. She says they were shown the Xenu material on a movie screen in a room with about 7 other people, her husband included, even though he had had only one communication class. This is so much different than the locked briefcase others have experienced. Have you ever heard anything like this?

NOTE: MY OTHER POSTED COMMENT MISSED SOME QUOTES AND NEEDED EDITING please use this one instead.

Answer to #3, you indicate that violence is actually written into policy for Sea Organization. So, when 4 ex-wives of 4 ex-scientologists were interviewed by Anderson Cooper and Jenny Linson stated “There is no history of violence in the church’, what you are saying is just another example of how she is lying as she is sea org. That, and the fact Tommy Davis also listed lots of people that were violent in the organization, people other than David Miscavige. I don’t understand this lying in the face of obvious other information. What happens to their integrity?

  4. (5) At 12:34 on the Xenu story, you state that it was “spiritual selfs” or “thetans” in Scientologese, not aliens, that were transported to earth. Ehm, how do you get something with no mass or location into an ice cube to put into a plane to drop into a volcano.
    Hi Chris,
    RE: the above question.
Did I miss something? I listened to your answer several times and I cannot find where you answered this question. Specifically, how do you put a thetan in or on anything, since it has no mass, location etc.

    1. I said that thetans have been degraded to the point where they consider that they are MEST, not spiritual beings. Ergo, you can put them in anything you want because they think they can be put in things. According to Hubbard, it’s all a matter of the thetan being convinced over time that he is MEST and therefore he acts like MEST. I’m sorry if I was not clear enough on that point.

  5. Thank you for the videos, they are very helpful and it’s great to have a goto person to ask questions regarding Scientology. I’m very curious about something, so here’s my question:

Scientology is not accepting of gays, but if a person is gay and a scientologist, is there (or was there at any point in time) an auditing procedure to help them turn straight if that is what the person wanted to do? (Not saying these things work or that I think doing something like this is a good idea.) How would a person’s auditor handle this?

    Thanks again!
