[VIDEO] Minnesota Atheists Interview – Part 1 – What is Scientology?

I was interviewed in July by James Zimmerman of the Minnesota Atheists cable TV show about Scientology. In Part 1, we covered the general subject of Scientology. I described what it is, how people get involved with it through the personality test, how many members the church claims versus how many there really are, etc.  I had a lot of fun doing these interviews and getting the truth out about this group to the local community.

The best part for me is at the end where I talk about critical thinking skills and why these are so important for preventing anyone from getting sucked into the mental traps of Dianetics and Scientology.

  1. Mighty Korgo of Teegeeack

I watched it and loved it. I hope the word gets out.

Concerning their population, there are so many lies that their size is just another one lie in the mixture. In 1970 they claimed repeatedly and in writing to have 15 million members world wide. Since then they have used a smaller number while claiming to be the world’s fastest growing cult.

I suppose I should stop going on about this. It is not a matter of deciding how they embellished the truth. They use the big lie.

Thanks for being an excellent representative for the critical community.

  2. Woo-hoo Chris!!!

    Way to go!!

Excellent interview. You are so spot-on with your emphasis on critical thinking and how it is the antidote to Scientology.

I am jumping up, pumping my fists, and dancing around my room!

    Suppression makes me so uptone!!!

  3. You have a demeanor and clarity that makes you a pleasure to listen to.

Thank you for being a disseminator of truth! It is really mind-blowing that the horrific crimes of this criminal organization have been able to exist for so long. I chalk that up to their blatant, straight-forward and repeated lying. They do it with such gusto that it can be very convincing to the uninformed.

I love Mike Rinder’s blog — he is doing great things over there! But when he was in scientology, it was amazing how an effective liar he was (from watching some of the youtube videos from that time). Again I love what Mike is doing now, and this is not a slam on him at all — all the other scientologists lie the same way — look at Sylvia at Chautauqua. Kudos to Mike, Marty, you and all the ex’es who are doing the amazing things they are doing.

The dissemination of truth now (by the likes of you, Mike, Marty, etc) is what will finally make people realize that they can’t believe a word that comes out of scientiology’s mouth, and that you can’t trust them as far as you can throw them (excluding DM because you can throw him pretty far). I think the Chautauqua incident has proved that the tide has turned and very few people are believing scientologists any more thanks to you guys!
