[VIDEO] Minnesota Atheists – Part 2 – My Scientology Story

Here is part 2 of my interview on the Minnesota Atheists local cable TV show. In this part, we talk about my own experiences with Scientology, how I got involved with it and why, and what happened to me on church staff and in the church’s upper levels as a Sea Organization member.

This interview was a lot of fun and I want to thank the people at the Minnesota Atheists for having me on their show. James Zimmerman, the host of the show, is an ex-Jehovah’s Witness and understands the kind of things I’ve been through as an ex-Scientologist. I was glad to have him interview me.

  1. Very powerful Chris!!

What struck me was your description of the moment when you realized that you were telling more lies than truth when working. The good news is that scientology was unable to brain-wash out of you your personal integrity. That has always been one of my questions — how complete and deep is the brain-wash job that scientology does on people.

I also think it is important for people to to understand that when people say “I work in scientology” that all these jobs are either directly or indirectly for the purpose of extracting money out of people. It is a criminal money-extracting organization that exists solely for this purpose and is a blight on mankind. Perhaps it was slightly different under Hubbard, but under DM that is all it is. So when people say “I worked 120 hours a week”, what they were doing was trying to extract money (directly or indirectly) for 120 hours a week. That is why the tax-exempt status is a joke. A joke on humankind.

  2. thank you for sharing Chris; and pointing out the scam of cos cult which we SPs -lol- have been tricked and fooled
you have pedagogic talents and charisma to explain it simply what is difficult to admit
    congratulations

  3. Chris – Just wanted to let you know that the video you have linked to here isn’t actually your segment. It’s one on Humanism. I happened across it when researching a compendium I was working on.

I’m actually glad you linked to the wrong video, because it was fascinating to me to see that the person really has NO idea what they are talking about when it comes to the history of “humanism”. To me, this is shades of Scientology to see such blatantly false PR tactics at work, although perhaps the woman is simply ignorant of the actual background of the society she represents. It’s like saying the background of Hubbard was that he was “just a man looking to help humanity”. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Be that as it may, thank you for the opportunity to see this in action currently, and I wish you all the best in your endeavors – Virginia McClaughry
