My review of the newly released Independence Day: Resurgence, an incredible disappointment for fans who have been waiting 20 years for a follow-up sequel to one of the best alien invasion/disaster films of all time.

You think THAT sucks. I saw Captain America last night. Take away Giant-Man and there’s nothing there. Plus, it had absolutely nothing to do with Scientology and none of the actors were Scientologists. I was hoping there would be a cameo of Jenna Elfman getting squashed by a 16 wheel truck but no, they couldn’t give me that.
The first Independence Day movie was terrible. Why would you expect anything more of the sequel?
the movie was a visual experience anyway.
Those epic planetary destruction scenes – wow!
Beautiful enough to see again,
(not so with Capt. America)
I did have a gripe, however…
when the mother ship blew? … the explosion was like bleeped out AND cut. No sonic boom. No cosmic twang. No mind-bending concentrically expanding arc, what? Not even a sound effect AT ALL when all of a sudden the ship is expanding in fragments. That one, the moment, did stop my enjoyment of the movie to ask…
what happened… in the movie studio ?
